Shopify alternatives in India are worth a look if you pay in rupees every month but most of your sales still happen at the counter. Shopify’s India pricing page lists a monthly charge on every option, an extra fee when you use an outside payment gateway, and a paid add-on for full in-store selling. Add those up for a slow month and a busy month before you decide.
Example, not a real shop: a Moradabad brassware store sells mostly across the counter and a little on Instagram. Its owner wants one question answered first: what does a quiet month cost?
It’s a fair question. Here’s the answer, using Shopify’s own India pricing page as it stood on 27 Oct 2026.

What does Shopify cost in India?
From Shopify’s India pricing page, as of 6 Oct 2026, before GST:
| Shopify plan (₹ per month) | Paid month to month | Paid annually |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | ₹1,994 | ₹1,499 |
| Grow | ₹7,447 | ₹5,599 |
| Advanced | ₹30,164 | ₹22,680 |
Plus starts at ₹1,75,000 a month. The page has no GST line, so check the final amount at checkout. Right now Shopify also advertises a 3-day trial, then ₹20 a month for the first 3 months on most plans, after which normal pricing applies.
Two lines on that page matter if you run a counter:
- In-store selling. The plans include casual in-person sales at pop-ups and events. The advanced tools for physical stores, called POS Pro, are an add-on at ₹7,000 a month per location, as of 6 Oct 2026, before GST. Shopify lists staff roles and permissions, in-store inventory management and in-store pickup among POS Pro’s features.
- Third-party transaction fees. The plan cards list a rate for third-party payment providers: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus. The FAQ says these “may apply when you use a third-party payment provider (instead of Shopify Payments)”. Check with Shopify which rate applies to your setup. When is Shopify the better choice?
Shopify’s a mature platform. For many businesses it’s the right call. It’s likely the better fit if:
- You want a huge choice of apps and themes. Its pricing page says you can integrate with thousands of apps and build custom apps using Shopify APIs.
- You want to sell internationally. The page lists tools to translate your storefront and show prices in local currencies, though some need Shopify Payments.
- Your online sales are steady and high every month, so a fixed plan is a small share of what comes in.
- You run several brick-and-mortar stores, want Shopify’s in-store inventory tools, and the per-location add-on works for your numbers.
- You also deal with wholesale buyers. Shopify’s plans list B2B catalogs.
How do I sell online from my physical shop without paying for two systems?
That’s the real question behind most searches for a Shopify alternative in India. When the counter still brings in most of the money, check five things before you sign up anywhere:
- GST bills for walk-ins, without a second software subscription for the counter.
- What you pay in a slow month. A plan price is due in Shradh fortnight too.
- What the percentage covers. Is payment processing inside it, or extra?
- Paid online orders, so the customer pays at checkout or picks COD, and nobody has to check screenshots.
- How inventory works between the counter and the online store.
If you also bill at a counter, read about billing software with an online store.

Which other Shopify alternatives are worth a look?
Dukaan is an Indian platform made for online-first brands. Its pricing page lists themes, plugins, a code editor, an Android app for your store, multiple warehouses and digital products. Yearly prices run from ₹2,500 for Starter to ₹50,000 for Infinity, as of 6 Oct 2026, before GST, plus a service fee on sales, capped at ₹200 per order. See our Dukaan alternatives write-up for where it fits.
Instamojo offers payment links, Smart Pages for services and events, digital products and an online store. Its store options list 5% + ₹3 per successful transaction on Lite and Starter, and 2% + ₹3 on Growth, as of 6 Oct 2026, before GST. It suits sellers of digital products or services, and stores that mainly need payment links. See our Instamojo alternative write-up.
A developer-built site on WordPress or similar gives full control, but you pay for the build, hosting and upkeep, and you set up payments and shipping yourself. Starting from an Instagram page rather than a website? See how an online store without a website works.
Indi Andaz is built for the store in our example: stocked goods, a counter that matters, and online orders on the side that are growing.
How does Indi Andaz handle the counter and the online store?
- A shareable branded shop link for your WhatsApp chats, Instagram bio or a sign at the counter.
- UPI, card and cash-on-delivery checkout, so the customer chooses how to pay.
- Shipping through Delhivery for parcels within India.
- GST billing at the counter through the Indi Andaz Counter app, where you can scan barcodes and take cash, UPI, card, udhar or split payments at the till.
Pricing: No monthly fee, 5% only on delivered online orders, payment processing included. GST applies on the fee. On a ₹1,000 product that is delivered, the fee is ₹50 plus GST on that fee. That stays the same after the UPI fee starts, so there’s no extra UPI charge to sellers.
The limits, plainly:
- Counter and online inventory are kept separate. A sale at the counter doesn’t change the online quantity, so update your listing when something sells out.
- No app store or open theme editor. The store is template-based. If you need custom code or a theme you already paid for, Shopify is the better choice.
- Made for physical products sold in India. It isn’t built for digital products, services, dropshipping or selling abroad.
- 5% grows with your best months. In a very strong month, a flat plan can cost less.
Does a fixed plan cost less than paying per order?
Sometimes, yes. You’ll pay a Shopify plan whether or not anything sells. A percentage on delivered orders costs nothing in a month with no online sales and more in a big month. So there’s a level of online sales above which Shopify Basic works out to cost less, and below which paying per delivered order does.
Where that line sits isn’t the same for everyone. It depends on how many customers pay online and how many choose cash on delivery, because Shopify’s page says third-party transaction fees may apply on top of the plan. Our ecommerce website cost breakdown shows how to compare a monthly plan with a per-order fee using your own numbers.
Most stores don’t sell the same amount online every month. There’s a festive rush, a few decent months and some quiet ones. Our article on ecommerce platform commission vs monthly charges shows how slow months change the picture. To see how a marketplace compares, check Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho seller fees.
If the counter is the heart of your business and online sales are growing, you can open your store on Indi Andaz and see how it fits.
